| For all its technical complexity Horst’s photographic process remains, at the end of the day, one of simply and efficiently capturing a compelling image. With every project Horst strives to deliver the perfect product: creative solutions to his clients' objectives, executed skilfully, on time and on budget. With more than a decade of professional experience, Horst has developed a technical proficiency and flexibility that lends itself wonderfully to a wide range of corporate, advertising and editorial projects. Horst’s exacting standards are reflected in the care he takes to thoroughly research and meticulously plan every project to ensure that your shoot runs as smoothly as possible. Whether in studio or on location, workflow is tailored to each client’s particular needs and communication is an integral component of every stage of the process, from planning to post-production. As an active member of Gallery 44 Horst is engaged in the art photography community of Toronto. Most recently he has explored the possibilities of wet plate photography. This form of photography dates back to the 1860s. The portraits that are captured are striking as the chemistry and technique invite subtle nuances that make each plate unique. Wet plate photography for him is really a counter point to the pixel perfection of digital photography. He lives in Toronto with his wife Jill, their daughter Olive and their cat Sopinka, and dreams of once again owning a motorcycle and touring the Americas. |
